Upper Manistee River

The Upper Manistee River watershed is located in the northwestern portion of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The Upper Manistee is generally considerd any portion of the river North of Hodenpyl Dam in Wexford County. South of Wexford or the Missaukee County line, the Manistee River is considered the "Lower Manistee".

The Manistee River's head waters are located a few miles Southwest of Alba, Mi. The Upper Manistee has a drainage area of 590 square miles. The watershed includes parts of five counties: Antrim, Otsego, Crawford, Kalkaska and Missaukee.
