he Thornapple River is runs about 100 miles before it joins up with the Grand River in Ada, Michigan.

The Thornapple River is a smaller stream that is great for paddlesports lovers in a small stretch roughly 14 - 25 miles long. The upper sections of the river between the rivers headwaters at Thornapple Lake down through Eaton County are too narrow and overgrown for good paddlesports and the river below Irving consists of a series of dam-created reservoirs that are heavily developed and great for fishing.
