The Bear River is a small and clear river running generally Nortwesterly from it's head waters in Wallon Lake. The Bear River in Petoskey is well know locally as a great fishing destination as well as being a haven for kayakers and canoers. The Bear River terminates into Little Travers Bay just outside of downtown Petoskey.
