Northwoods offers self-guided canoeing and kayaking trips from 1 1/2 hours to 3 or more days in length and can be enjoyed by all skill levels. Paddle a canoe or a user-friendly sport kayak on one of our area’s remote and scenic rivers. It’s truly an experience you’ll never forget!

Menominee River
(1 ½ - 2 hour paddling time)

Paddle our favorite section of the Menominee River. Gentle, easy paddle on one of the most scenic stretches. Extend your paddle and explore the many islands and coves on the flowage near the take out point.

Brule River Trips
(4 hours to 3 days)

4 to 5 hour day trips get you into a scenic and quiet area known for wildlife viewing. Mild to moderate current. No portages. Take an overnight trip or extend to 3 days, two nights. Quiet and secluded with good fishing and primitive campsites. Please practice Leave No Trace principals.

Michigamme and Menominee Rivers

Great 3-day or longer fishing or exploring trip. Combination river and large lake paddling. Primitive campsites, good fishing and wildlife areas. 2-3 portages, mild to moderate river current.
