The Snake River in northern Idaho is the largest tributary of the great Columbia River. The Snake River, at 1040 miles long is no little stream in and of itself. The Snake River has it's headwaters in Yellowstone National Park in western Wyoming before winding its way through Idaho, Washington, and Oregon before emptying into the Columbia.
