The Salmon River is a major tributary to the Klamath River but before the confluence the Salmon River is one of California's premier rivers. The Salmon itself is formed by two forks, the North Fork and the South Fork which come together fittingly in the city of Forks of Salmon, Califorina. The Salmon River is 17 miles long after the two forks meet and before it joins the Kalmath River.
