One of the primary reasons I wanted to build Jstroke.com was because I thought there was a need to give paddlers an easy and cool way to ask for and look for other people to float with.

All the forums I go to such as p-net and www.americanwhitewater.org all have forum posts where users are looking to hook up with like minded folk to head out to some near-by river or lake. I've always thought it was somewhat clunky searching for a get-together in a message board and I thought that by letting people enter the same information onto a map would make it so much easier to find a group to hook up with.

Take a look at the float with me section on JStroke and see if that interface seems a little more intuitive? I'm going to keep implementing new features in the community section but for not I want to focus on getting our community of paddlers together in an easier manner and I think this could be a good method.
